Take a look at my site and tell me why my page rank dropped!

Ok I know page rank really means nothing. But my automotive blog site dropped from a 3 to a 0 over the last week. I have not done anything to the site....no linking, no new posts, nada.

Can you take a look and tell me why the drop? In your opinion of course.

I do have alot of outbound links, but these are to the car dealers that have hired my company.

The site in question is:

bestnewautomobile.com

it still ranks well for its keywords, and it does NOT have a penalty.

I have used a couple of different tools to check the PR. And they all say ZERO!

Also it is not because of the backlinks....I have not lost any and have built over 1600 in the past year! Quote: Originally Posted by rookiethomas Ok I know page rank really means nothing. It happens. Real scarry isn't it, esp if your income relies on having a high visibility -as one of mine did a few years back, my only! site then.

I may simply be that Google's done another of it's periodic rehash of ranking.

Just keep doing all the same things as before - no black hat moves, regular posting (hmm - from what you say you haven't been doing that. Naughty. The big G like fresh content), building backlinks etc.

If you can find your domain exact URL in a search, you are still indexed, so it will be google's frustrating re-ranking.

Last hint: If all your income relies on SERP's - diversify into other area(s) not so reliant on SEO - having all your financial eggs in one basket is a good way to end up with (pun intended) egg on your face. The same thing happened to one of my friends. His site dropped from PR3 to PR0 and stayed there for a month, then it went back to PR3 during the new years eve pagerank update. So you just have to stay calm and wait for the next PR update. PR does not make a lot of difference. So don't worry it's like a Game Some one loses and someone wins. And if you still have the problem than there is no other method than asking Google itself. I have read many threads this past week about up and downs......many people say Google is acting weird lately......

Most knowledgeable SEO people say it will straighten out as G re-ranks.

Hope they are right ....good luck... Quote: Originally Posted by Jim Gillum I have read many threads this past week about up and downs......many people say Google is acting weird lately......

Hope they are right ....good luck... It is indeed acting weird .. in that I've got a domain with no site/pages for over 10 months with a PR of 3 .. I think this is the time to do link building to your site.
