sybase and results

I am not a db programer, though i am trying to get some php scripts to work with a sybase db. The thing i do not understand is how to get the query's output. I understand that you can pull it by rows and then output it that way, but is there any way that I could just get the same output that I would get from isql, because that is basicaly all I want, and it makes it easier For me if I could just get the whole thing in one big string to post the the page. Abviously its usefull to get everything one at a time, but there is already a stored procedure that gets everything i need and its parsed corectly.

Ideas welcome, as well as code:)
