I'm not that sure, but from what I had read in some forums and articles, changing your IP should not have any effect in your SEO. After all it's just the IP that you are changing, and not the URL (which really affects your SEO in that case). Changing the DNS (domain name server) information won't change the SEO. I have changed hosting and nothing happened.
Why are you worried about this if you are not the owner anymore? It's the new owner's responsibility to change the DNS once you change the ownership over to them. It's also their responsibility to keep up the good work you have done in the past if they want the same results. Just make sure the new host IP is provided by a legit company. If you use a shared web hosting, your site may have the same IP as some bad web sites. That can potentially harm your site's reputation.
Other than that, changing IP doesn't affect your SEO. If your changed IP is still under the same roof then it will not have any impact towards your website seo.
If your changed IP is to different country then it would have an impact.
Example - Your website hosted under US ip based web hosting company and have a good ranking in Google.com One day you have changed from US ip based to India ip based. Your website ranking in Google.com may be dropped but the ranking in Google.co.in may be higher. I have also seen this. But still static IP gives you a better value in google if we compare with the dynamic ip. Continuous change in IP moves your repo down as point of view from SE. So I would prefer not to change ip rapidly. I do not think so.I do not heard anything like this.So be careful. Is there any particular reason to change ur ip....Why do u want to change IP? ya it will not effect your SEO
bcoz you are going to change only IP not the URL of your site so you dont worry about the SEO According to me Google depend on back link.. it haven't got any relation with IP. I disagree. It will affect your seo, but only in certain conditions, like geotargeting, localized tld's, etc. As long as you don't radically change the scope - like choose a Singapore hosting when you had a US hosting while targeting the German market, you should be fine. This is Google's Achile's heel in my book, they have a still very much ip based geotargeting system, while Yahoo and Bing use more wisely the tld system. Sure you'll say, geotargeting in Google is more complicated than that, but IP is a factor. So takse some care in making the switch to another company, check out if it had any impact on your targeting schemes. The country specific IP addresses are not affecting the ranks of the sites. For example, changing your hosting account or domain name from one US based portal to another one.
