this is news to me, http://n.ethz.ch/student/mkos/pinguin.swfgets a good PRis this normal? It is whn everyone in the world is pointing a link to it page rank is based on links, and even though it won't get a SERP (there is not html to get a keyword for) it can still have a pagerankthanks RTM That page has 65 backlinks that's PR4+ right now. This shows you don't even need to do on page SEO if you have links coming in.no it doesn't. SEO is about more than pagerank. that site WILL NOT show in the SERPS for ANY keywords. the one possible exception may be the title of the document, if you search for that. or of hundreds of sites are linking to it saying like "penguin game" it may show up for "penguin game".but that doesn't change the fact that there's a huge difference between SEO and PR. PR is a small part of SEO.disgust wrote:I can't seem to get above 250 points though, and dammit I have been trying hard.310 here!328.5!!! HA!!317.1Feel free to continue the Penguin Baseball scores you get here:http://www.ozzu.com/general-discussion/penguin-baseball-t20414.htmlAnyway to get back on topic you can even make pages that do not exist get PageRank by linking to them. There are many 404 pages that have PR.Also something else related but slightly different is that I see evidence now that Google will parse the links that exist in a swf file and follow them. In other words if your Flash file has links, it will pass on PR to what it links to. As far as reading content in the Flash files, I do not thinkg Google does not have that capability yet (if ever).Bigwebmaster wrote:if google is parsing the links in a flash file then why is it so hard to parse the text?i think people are not linking the swf files, but they are linking the website, and that website is linking the swf file. i think these days yahoo is counting readint the swf files.
