I'm trying to buy a domain name and I was wondering which of the following would be better...seo-wise and more convenient for users:something-forum.com?somethingforum.com?Both are fine and you can use anyone of your choice but I think if you use-"forums" plural of "forum" in your domain then it will be better.i think the domain with hyphen as a word separator is better. Then try to optimize for other possible KW combinationsYes.. the domain without Hyphen is better. The hypehen reduces its value. You can get some good domain deals at : http://www.internet.bsI agree with coolsko, both are fine to use. But if I really have to choose, I would go for the domain without hyphen. Because it looks much better without the hyphen, lol. It's up to you, In my opinion I would use the one without the Hyphen. But thats Just becuase I dont like Hyphens In URLSI'm actually getting nervous with hyphens. I have one hyphen in my domain. I also have friendly url's so when a page is click there could be up to 5 or 6 hyphens in the domain. One thing that is not a factor, Google. I'm doing very well. I read on another forum that Yahoo hates Hyphens.But...think of this. Do a search for anything and look at the url's that come up. I've yet to see one with hyphens. I don't mean rare keyword phrases, but just keywords.I've been researching this for a week now because I'm involved with a new website. I have to decide by monday. I found a great available domain that has 2 hyphens in it.I prefer not to use hyphens, but sometimes you have no choice if it's a popular theme. If you get the chance though, buy both and redirect. At the very least it stops others parking the domain and putting up those inane ad pages, but you might also catch users who are stupid and put in the wrong URL.no"-" in your domain is better!
