I've been using the <sub></sub> and <sup></sup> tags to put a few numbers and words into subscript or superscript (ie. in order to write CO2 properly).<br />

The problem is that when I put the '2' into subscipt, for example, it will increase the spacing between this line and the next very slightly. This spoils the appearances of the page.<br />

Is there any way of either stopping this slight increase in line spacing, or increasing the line spacing of the rest of the page in order to match it?<br />
