subdomains and sandbox?

I am looking for advice on subdomains in relation to google. I have a PR6 site that is relatively popular. I have created a subtopic related to the topic of the site and want to create a subdomain for it. Will the subdomain get sandboxed and if so is it for a shorter amount of time? Also...would it be smart to point a new domain towards the subdomain? Thank you.if the subdomain content is very related with the main domain, and the sites are linked, it may not get sandboxedHi - thank you for your email. If a subdomain does get sandboxed....will it be sandboxed for less time since it is alread an established site? Also....what about a directory type structure instead....does that get sandboxed? For example site.ex/directory1/Also...I noticed that recently new pages I add are getting top page rankings for a few days and then disappearing from existence. What is this new occurence happening for?nor subdomain, nor any of the new pages you create be it simple page or subfolder will be sandboxed once main website is out of sandbox and has PR and is well indexed. I state it from my experience. However, link to this 'new page' is must for google to index it. My expereince shows that new pages from old websites seem to make huge jump in google search results once their are indexed. Thanks for your email. My site is 8 years old and we have top listings for all over our older pages but for our newer pages, we are finding that they get top listings for the first few days and then disappear so I don't know why this is happening recently. Oh well, I guess nobody else is experiencing this. Thanks for your comments.Rachel
