against

Hallo,

maybe this post sounds strange...

In some html editors is the option to use the strong element in place of the bold element. Both looks the same in the most common browsers. Why this option? I read something about that bold (not strange) marked keywords are higher ranked in search results.Bold is a semantically meaningless tag, thus has no merit with a search engine, whereas strong indicate an important section of inline text.Sam's right; the former actually says something about the contents of the element. While, the latter, says something about how the element should be presented. Hence, presentional markup. Of course, we want semantic markup — to describe the meaning of out content, not how it should look. Presentation is best left to CSS.True, true. says the text is meant to be bold. Well, what if I want my entire site to be in bold fonts simply because I think they're attractive? Should I encase the entire page in tags? No. If I want to emphasize something, I'll enter it in tags, and strong emphasis is left for . And, like Fred said (heh, that rhymes), I can decide their look with some CSS.Hallo to you all...

I think i had the same meaning some hours before... until i played a little bit with the "Web Page Analyser" on http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/
