Strange Google Rank

Well, this site, clubpenguingang.com just started and its probably only been running for a month or so and it has a VERY high google rank! It has no links to it and I don't understand how it got so high.

Ive been going for such a long time (almost a year) and my Google rank is a 3.

And is it the higher the rank the better? (Like 6 is better than a 3?)

My site is watex.wordpress.com

My competitors are clubpenguingang, chewittt.wordpress.com, and paintboy100.wordpress.com (all google rank 4s)

most/all of them are out of my league to tell you the truth.

and most importantly, can you guys review my site and give me some tips to raising my rank up? i have more sites linking to mine than most of my competitors but i still have a lower rank. and please look at the blog catalog on my sidebar, is that pushing up or pulling down my rank? im not even sure if some of the links i listed put me on their catalog. Google PR is very sensitive tool. Sometime you can make tones of link exchanges and good site structure and still have low pr, but in other cases you can very easily get high results with only few good exchanges. Of course you have to wait "a little" for google to get it all sorted, so don't worry if someone has better pr, maybe you just have to wait.

Anyway, you have good site structure from seo aspect with good headings, no tables and seo urls. Do some quality link exchanges. thanks but i think it mite be the blog catalogs that dragged me down. thats wat some people said. and i used to have this thing called link2blogs.com on my sidebar but i took it off an hour ago because i thought it was a spam site. i had it on my blog a LONG time

and wat are inbound links? please use small words lol. sorry for being a noob Quote: Originally Posted by watex and wat are inbound links? please use small words lol. sorry for being a noob No problem bro.

Inbound links are links on other sites leading to your site. Creating quality inbound links is one of the most important technique of SEO. Find some sites with quality content from your niche (entertaining blogs) and ask them to swap links.

That should be the first step... Quote: Originally Posted by skyBlue No problem bro.

That should be the first step... swap links as in link to them and they link to you?
wont i have to do that MANY times?
ive actually already done that and many of the good quality sites wont link to me or ignores me for some reason.
