Hi,

I have a website on my machine

Index page calls page panelsurvey.htm which contains
an inline frame. The source of this is a frameset in
page panelframes.htm
Panelframes.htm calls paneltree.asp which contains
javascript and vbscript code.

Problem: when look at panelsurvey.htm in web browser
(IE5), get a file Download dialogue box with the
message:

You have chosen to Download paneltree.asp from this
loaction (on harddisk)

What would you like to do with file ?
.....
.....

Also the "Always ask before opening this type of file"
checkbox is checked and greyed out

How do I not get this dialogue box to come up and the script in paneltree.asp to run ?

Thanksyou need to install a server if you don't have one. for asp you need IIS or PWS.The strange problem is that I have IIS 5 installed on my machine where the website is.

I can even run Internet Information Services in the MMCwell although I am not very familiar with IIS but it sounds like it is not configured correctly. I know on apache you hav to tell it that it is a webpage and not a file to Download so it loads it correctly.
