Do search engines really penalise you for using stop words like, and, on, a, the, for, to etc. in the title tag? Thought it was best practice to make the title read well?

It is preferable to use stop words rather than a series of keywords without interest. Yeah, I agree with Assurance. You won't be penalized, and you can use those to make your title well readable and will not look like a spam. Not penalized by search engines but it will be advisable to always avoid using stop words in your title tags because while searching these words are excluded in search engines Thanks everyone for the info. I'll make my title readable but with 1 or 2 stop words if necessary
