I have a splash page that is just a jpg embedded into html. There are no meta tags except for one that will redirect to the mainpage 5 seconds after load. When bots come along and spider my site, are they just going to see this page and conclude that there is nothing there? or will the follow the redirect?1) don't use splash pages, they're horrible for google and probably other SE's too. 2) I would set the redirect to something higher, or remove it all together and just have a small href link that points to the main pageThe redirect will hurt your page. Use a mouse over event on the page or on some other part of the page to forward the users or research how to do a 301 direct.Ok well I will put in that link, and forget about the rederict. thanks for the help you allreally, though, if you care about search engines (and it seems like you do, as you're posting here) you should get rid of the splash page.the PR of your main page, and all incoming links, COULD be doing you a huge favor- but not if all you have is a splash page on the front page. use keywords on the main page.Great advice disgust!
