Ive only just become aware of social bookmarking and just wanted to find out a few things about it. It seems as if its similar to directory submissions, you get a one way backlink to your site but its not going to be worth a massive amount as its surrounded by lots of other backlinks and isnt particularly relevant, is this correct?
Is there any added benefits that you dont get submitting to directories?
Is the idea that you do a write up on your site and link to it, then add info on certain products and link to inner pages?
Is the idea that you submit as many links to as many sites as possible or just go for the best select few?
Is there any dos and donts?
Ive initially signed up with a handful of PR3 and 4 sites - http://www.addictionaire.com/, http://solinkable.com/, http://iorkut.net/, http://bookmarks.directory-list.com/, http://webbiru.com/, http://www.podshow411.net/, http://www.cadillactight.net/ - any thats no good in there or any others I should look at? So you cant create a quick article and submit the same thing to 300 social bookmarking sites? Why not? Theoretically you can, but since it is duplicate content, it may be ignored by Google. So, it is better to change the content slightly and then submit the slightly changed content url to the social bookmarking sites.
