Well, it doesn't put your site on google. It makes it so search engines bots index your pages better. Example.
Originally your URL was showthread=939393 or something like that idk the correct format.
vbSEO changes teh URL to /forum-name/what-you-named-your-thread-title/
so it indexes better for keywords etc.

So if your thread title was... How I hacked Microsoft
and someone searches, Hacking Microsoft your site has a better chance of being ranked higher than another site
