Might not mean much to yall, but I'm quite happy that I finally got to No. 1 for my primary key words, beating out my main competitor (who has my keywords as their domain name)good goin manthanks Nice one ! What keyword was it ? And was it all to do with getting backlinks? The keyword was "eq maps", and I'm not sure it had to do anything with backlinks since I don't actively seek them and they haven't seemed to change over the last 8 or so months. On the other hand, I do have a javascript feed of new maps that others can put on their site. Maybe that's doing it?well done Awesome! Now give us step by step instructions on how you did it......Ok, ok, give ME instructions on how you did it. hehe Swanwell Swan, it's a long story, but the short of it is that I didn't have anything to do with it First there was a "cheat" program for Everquest and it produced dead-accurate vector maps as text files. I wanted the same maps, but didn't want to cheat, so I wrote a parser in php that would generate gif images of the maps.Sony eventually incorporated a similarly formatted map system into the game itself, so I rewrote my parser to handle the Sony format, then made a site where players could upload/download the maps they created, and that's about it.The site is basically user maintained, but the content is probably the MOST relevant for any site that uses "EQ Maps" as a keyword. eqmaps.com is a pay site, and they aren't anywhere up to date as my site is. Hell I get maps for expansions that haven't been released yet, but for the last expansion, Sony sent me a C&D letter I hope it "just" happens to me the same way congratulations!Swanwe're going to FINALLY add World of Warcraft and Everquest II content in Jan. Hopefully, that will bring even more traffic Good going - now you can be one of the experts in this forum too rtchar wrote:
