Whoo, first post!
Anyway -
I am about to begin the redesign of a page ranked third on Google for a set of keywords. Obviously, my client is concerned about keeping that position.
The site however is incredibly sparse. It consists of a minimal amount of content resting inside tables and there is no SEO whatsoever.
My first thought is that after the redesign is done simply having the proper meta tags in place may even bump it higher than it is. But since it has no SEO currently do I run the risk of bumping it off the page if the content on the index page changes? How do I make sure that whatever SEO I develop for the site will keep it at least ranked #3 for those search terms?
Mayhap would it make sense to use some sort of redirect and keep the current site up as it is?
Much appreciated,
Joe
