***Before you reply, please note that your intelligence and wisdom are needed for a meaningful discussion. Do not post a meaningless reply for backlinking purposes.
I have just spoken to my co-worker, he mentioned that his professor said it is better to use a mix of SEO tactics (Article submission, forum, blogging, etc), so that it seems to be as natural as possible for the sake of Google.
An example he mentioned was : "If you plan to use forums for SEO purposes, it is better for you spend MOST of your efforts on relevant forums, and some on forums with irrelevant topic(s). - (ex. if I'm optimizing for my NBA fan site, I should be aiming for ~80-90% backlinks from basketball related forums and the remainder on other forums.)
Please discuss. Of course. You should use different tactics as I am using it. Just be consistent in link building. Sounds like you got some good advise....can't add anything.... A mix of seo tactics is always better. we should create backlinks from all possible and legitimate way. I think there's nothing wrong to mix all SEO techniques, but remember to start on optimizing start to your onpage then you may start to do the offpage SEO. All methods can be done, I have seen a lot of ways to mix all techniques but remember that Google SE mostly crawl a site who has the good quantity link building. Do not focus more on keywords, focus on long-tail searches quality links. High PR Social media sites are another technique wherein you can post all your articles links, blogs, share your forum post/ comments. Google now loves crawling this 3 social media sites (facebook, twitter, and youtube). Social bookmarking is also the best tools for SEO, you can do whatever you want, bookmark your video, blogs, articles, news and domain. Dang it! I was all ready with this wonderful reply, but as it turns out, I have neither intelligence or wisdom.
FWIW in my humble opinion, SEO is a lot like a puzzle and if you only have a few pieces, you are not likely to be very happy with the results. It doesn't just LOOK more natural to use a wide variety of techniques, it IS more natural to do so. Depending on one or two techniques is how most people get themselves into trouble when there are changes in search algorithms. If the search engines suddenly discount the only method you were counting on, you are back to the beginning again. I guess what Cricket mentioned is quite analogous to investments.
But instead of just reducing risk, it also increases the effectiveness of your SEO efforts.
Spot on
I was kinda doubting my co-worker's theory but if I put myself in the shoes of a search engine, guess that makes perfect sense. I do agree with the admin, the mixing of links will help when there will be a change in search algorithm. And most important is it looks natural for search engines.
But on relevant issue,am not quite sure that only links from relevant pages are more helpful.I've seen many e-commerce sites which are ranking high in Google but they don't have much relevant links.
