I use to be with jonesolutions.com. I no longer administer the server i had with them. So i canceled my account. No less that a hour after that i get a call from the company that they are getting spam like crazy. I go no way. I go and look at the exim log and it is not doing many things it use to do like sender verify. I go and look at the cpanel system log and see this. - root [04/10/2008:00:13:50 -0000] "GET /gears.gif HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "https://xxx/scripts2/saveeximconf?reset=Reset+All+Configs+to+Defaults" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13" - root [04/10/2008:00:13:59 -0000] "GET /xml-api/loadavg HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "https://xxx/scripts/command?PFILE=topframe.html" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13" - root [04/10/2008:00:14:04 -0000] "GET /scripts2/saveeximconf?reset=Reset+All+Configs+to+Defaults HTTP/1.1" 0 "https://xxx/scripts2/displayeximconfforedit" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13" - - [04/10/2008:00:14:13 -0000] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 401 0 "" "Hybodus"Stay aways from this company. BE sure to change your root password before you cancel. I am now proceeding with my credit card for all payments i have done to them. And legal action. They did not have the right to go in and change anything.Hi Damier,When you cancel an account with us, we right away remove all your login details from our records. It is standard. This is strange that we do not reset anything once a client canceled their account. In fact, we offer a one time security for this and we leave it as is.Please pm me about this info or submit a ticket so I can personally investigate this if someone from my staff did login. Thanks,NetHrrrmWhile it's a bit coincidental that the spam came just outside of the cancellation period, is it really THEIR fault?Net's been around for a while, and, honestly, it looks like someone made a change in a WHM setting, or, even worse that exim was upgraded and the default settings got restored. In fact, right here, this suggests it:- root [04/10/2008:00:13:50 -0000] "GET /gears.gif HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "https://xxx/scripts2/saveeximconf?reset=Reset+All+Configs+to+Defaults" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13"So, unless you've got absolute proof that it was jonessolutions (which I'm sure you don't, because I'm pretty sure it wasn't), and not your client, or something else, then you should probably think twice about making statements such as that! So, unless you've got absolute proof that it was jonessolutions (which I'm sure you don't, because I'm pretty sure it wasn't), Dont play the lottery today. Your not getting very lucky. You seem sure about this, I would not be sure about the numbers you pick.you should probably think twice about making statements such as that!I don't want to post IPs Please close thread. Net has taken care of the problem. :agree:Stay aways from this company. BE sure to change your root password before you cancel. Good luck getting all of your money back, or even one payment since they provided you service as advertised. Especially since I'm having a hard time figuring out what you're accusing them of.What he's accusing them of is modifying exim configs, or basically resetting them to default.
What's funny is he claims he has IP's, but has no proof that the ip's belong to Jones. Nobody can.
Again, Net's been around for a while, and I REALLY think that if he was as 'shady' as this post suggests, he wouldn't be green
That's not saying I can't be wrong, but come on, you're saying someone that's been here (almost) as long as I have, has the trust of the moderators to control things around here (a job I don't envy), and has established himself as a reasonable member of this community is supposedly 'shady'? Not buying itHe admitted it might have been one of his staff - no reason to keep defending him linux-tech. Let them resolve it together. He says it is resolved. Problem is, he doesn't say what the resolution was. We're only left with the strong accusations and no update to what actually happened.
I think we need to hear from the OP about what happened.Let them resolve it together.Which we have, I jumped the gun in running to WHT as many do. I forgot that net is on here.I feel it was not a company act, and would still recommend jonesolutions.comJust want to explain that it is a mistake in one of my staffs.I told my (new) staff to delete his login details and all his records including the WHM bookmark link in firefox, unfortunately, my staff during that time is busy also working with another server which he had another WHM opened in firefox and he thought it was the server he is working with another client who asked to reset the exim and so it happened...I also explained this to damier via ticket. Thanks, netWhich we have, I jumped the gun in running to WHT as many do. I forgot that net is on here.
I feel it was not a company act, and would still recommend jonesolutions.comAnother happy ending.
