Server Wizards...

Once again, after another few more months with ServerWizards, I'm back here to rave about them.
They are absolutely spectacular. I have NEVER had to wait longer then a few minutes to get a response to a ticket, and all of my issues are usually resolved right on the spot. For the more complicated issues, it never takes longer then a few hours to get everything going the way I need it going.

I currently run a large number of high load websites, and SW has helped me every step of the way. They gave me suggestions (and fixed up some of my servers) to lower my server load, made suggestions on what hardware to buy and why, and have been most helpful in setting up a system to load my static HTML pages from one less expensive box and load the higher load pages from 3 dual Dempsey boxes. I have never been more pleased with a server management company, and they are well worth every penny I spend on their services.

So if you are considering any type of management company, I would strongly suggest giving them your consideration. That's interesting, because I have totally opposite experience. While tickets are, indeed, answered almost immediately, some things take forever to be done.Go with SeeksAdmin.

They are fantastically quick and resolve problems just as quick as they respond to them in the first place.

Very happy with their team of workers thus far. That's interesting, because I have totally opposite experience. While tickets are, indeed, answered almost immediately, some things take forever to be done. In my case tickets are responded to and fixed in no time. ServerWizards are no 1 server management company in my book.In my case tickets are responded to and fixed in no time. ServerWizards are no 1 server management company in my book.

Good for you. I have my doubts (I always have them) because it never hurts to be paranoid :)Well...Zealus.com I'm TOTALLY with you on this..... and I will very soon be starting a thread with other dissatisfied EX serverwizards customers..... Things started out great with them for at least a month (I was really happy initially) but thngs have gone downhill more and more with their service. I recently dumped them (last month) after nearly a year. This is the catalogue of problems I had with them: 1/ Incompetence....a simple request to create a chrooted user account who cant browse the server (for a developer) was met with incredible incompetence..... They just COULD NOT create a chrooted account!!!!! After over 20 tickets they just basically said "well thats it" 2/ Value for money...or lack of. The $70 dollar subscription you pay is carefully monitored by SW....once you exceed in their eyes a job that takes even a small amount of skill or time...you've had it. They set a PITIFUL monthly allowance on what they actually provide to you. They just seem to say "yes, it should be fine now" and the problem is exactly as it was before!!!!! 3/ Untruths....I asked them to set up my server to back up to a SAN. I gave them all the account details, and what I wanted backing up. DID they do it???did they f*** SO when my server went down 4 months later......I asked them to re instate from the daily backup they had setup....."er...what daily backup".... they promptly responded, causing me a total nitemare 4/ Their server "monitoring" is a TOTAL JOKE!!!! They dont monitor anything at ALL...except their own bank account.. My httpd service went down numerous times due to system faults.....did server wizards EVER (not even once) alert me to it?????...........DID they HELL.. And they even had the audacity to sound annoyed when I mentioned to them their logging and monitoring service was not working in the slightest!!!! 5/ Their "server lockdown" security plan...is also a total joke. During the latter part of server wizards "maintaining" my server....I was having to read up a LOT and get good with Unix myself as they never could complete the requested job... So I got down to inspecting the "security plan" they had implemented last week.....Was I surprised?? No. Was I annoyed??? HELL YES.... My server had more security holes than an unpatched Windows XP box. I was utterly staggered. and felt ripped off for all those subscriptions I had forked out for... PLUS the ?0 I paid out at the start of the plan for server wizards to apply their "eggsuprtise" and lock down my system. I'm not sure if they are sponsors here or not?? and if this post of truth will be edited in anyway?? but be rest assured Marcin. i will be reviewing your company on every hosting BBS on the web :mad:and1c:
I don't know why you never tried to contact our customer service about your problems. I've been checking your last tickets and I see replies like:
"Hmm!
it looks like you were right!!
All fixed now. Thanks guys ;)"
"thanks for that."
"Ok. Thanks for that!
Cheers"
Even in your last ticket opened few days ago you said you were cancelling susbcription "mainly because of financial shortfalls on my sites. Thanks for your help in the past"

Feel free to send me an email, I'll be more than happy to co-operate with you.and1c:I don't know why you never tried to contact our customer service about your problems. Thanks for your help in the past" Feel free to send me an email, I'll be more than happy to co-operate with you. Hmmm..... Not sure which story books you've been delving in there guys?? Your service went from good to UTTER RUBBISH.. Im sure I did say "thanks for that" on some occasions. But wheres the ones saying "no, the problem is still there, can you fix it" reply "yes, should be ok now"....."no, the problem is still there, can you fix it"....................."yes, should be ok now"....." bla bla bla...working out FAR FASTER for me to fix it myself If you read my cancellation email carefully.... You will find it says...... "I have been very very disatisfied with the level of support from server wizards in recent months" I'm afraid it's too late for "co-operating"...you should have offered a better service full stop. All the above points are Im sure you will admit (or may not) totally true. Server Wizards have proved their lack of wizardry one too many times for my liking....also, this wasnt really for the attention of server wizards.More the rest of the internet. I found my subscription a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY FOR THE LATTER PART. after all a happy customer writes good reviews? dont they :mad:We must say that we have experienced similar issues with ServerWizards. Although we receive prompt replies to tickets, we often get responses like 'It should be working now', etc, however no detail is provided as to how the problem was solved. We do actually expect to know more about what they are actually doing to resolve problems rather than brief responses such as the above.

The other issue is that often tickets are responded to as 'we're doing this now' and then closed immediately. A ticket should only be closed once the task has been completed and we should be advised of this on the ticket.

We are becoming increasingly dissatisifed because of the above, especially the lack of detail provided on responses to tickets.

Is there any decent alternative? We are prepared to pay good money for server management and are weary of the cheaper alternatives advertised (seeksadmin, etc)sallyanne: Next time you put in a ticket please mention that you want to know about the solution, many of our clients just want the problem fixed asap without having to know the solution.I can't speak for anyone else, but I can say that we've used ServerWizards for the better part of a year now to help manage some of our servers and have had nothing but good to say regarding the level of service. Are many answers to issues replied with a simple "This should be fixed" or "This is now fixed"? Sure. Speaking from an experienced hosting background - that IS what most customers want to hear. They just want to know the issue has been taken care of. We've accepted those answers, and we've also asked for someone to elaborate on them with a detailed response. In both situations, it's worked out fine. Response times have always been good, and with a quick resolution. I've recommended them to others, and would do so again. For anyone reading this thread, I'd say keep in mind the fact that you always hear the bad reviews, and in most cases you don't hear the good. They get a good review from us.I'm also pretty impressed with ServerWizards, if you ask them to do something it gets done within minutes. They even do things for me which I believe are outside of their remit such as implementing mods to PHPBB and stuff like that, but you just ask them to do it and it gets done.

I can honestly say that my entire website (on 5 dedicated servers) would simply not run without their help and assistance and I'd recommend them to anyone.ServerWizards is GREAT!!!!!I tried 2 other server management companies reputable on WHT but none of them gave me such quality support as ServerWizards, that's why all my current and future servers are managed by ServerWizards.ServerWizards is the BEST tech support ever! So, if you're looking for tech support for your server I highly recommend them! I've used them for almost 3 years and NEVER had a problem. If I ask them to do something it gets done! Go ServerWizards Go!!!!! A+++++++I find it both funny and pathetic that server wizards "seem to" have set up so many different user accounts on this forum to cover there *** when negative posts get made  Voyeur <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?searchid=1956689">http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.ph ... id=1956689</a><!-- m --> Looking at your previous posts you seem to be an employee of Server Wizards :D ardesign <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?searchid=1956701">http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.ph ... id=1956701</a><!-- m --> Well...what is there to say. Just go back to using your regular SW username please!!!! Sallyanne// I would recommend you try rackspace.....they are not cheap but you get what you pay for IMO.....a first rate, dedicated top notch managament service and hardware :agree: Does anyone know how many employees server wizards has?Because they certainly need MORE guys and of a higher calibre.. Like I said, when I first went with SW they were great, and fixed several problems I had on the server....Unfortunately their level of service dropped off more and more each month after those initial tickets. The genuine poster who seems to have had a good experience with SW.....you may well only be giving them standard easy tasks....If they get something complex to do (not even Very complex)...in my experience it NEVR got done correctly (so it worked)...usually leaving you with extra problems to fix and the original one also. I would have rather paid $150 per month and got a genuine first class service....... Also, the fact that SW uses a non secure (non HTTPS) script based ticket helpdesk (a cheap one at that).....whereby they have ALL of their supported users submitting root passwords, and every other useful bit of server information and account passwords.... is beyond me!!!!!!!!!! You would expect a company with such "talent" to have a custom coded highly secure helpdesk system and I will not be surprised when a post on this forum goes something like "I got hacked after sending a ticket to server wizards"!!!! because their current system is blatently open to abuse by anyone with the knowledge and desire to hack them.If you don't believe I am not SW, then contact me and deny my existence directly to me.Owner - ArkansasWeb.comand1c:
No-one who posted in this thread is related to us or works for us so stop accusing us. And no password has ever leaked from our helpdesk because client only submits IP and root password once, when we enter it to our database original ticket is wiped out.If you don't believe I am not SW, then contact me and deny my existence directly to me. Owner - ArkansasWeb.com I deny your truthful existence ;)Grow up and1c, whoever you are? I will end this silliness for all that read this thread with...... ServerWizards Rocks!!!! Is it submitted that one time over a secure connection (SSL)? If not, it is not completely secure at all and can be seen plainly in transit. The database...is it off line or connected to the internet? If connected, there's another potential weak point....and1c > I am not an employee of SW however I feel part of their family, I met those guys at Hosting.Con and they were very nice people. I decided to sign up and never regretted it. I used to have many problems keeping my servers in shape but ever since I got ServerWizards all of my servers run perfectly. That's why I will always vote for ServerWizards - ALWAYS! :agree:Grow up and1c, whoever you are? The helpdesk is an inverseflow one iirc I was never happy posting passwords on it....if you've been hacked it doesn tmatter if its only posted once...The hacker will have recorded the information required Voyeur - good for you...now back to managing those servers :rolleyes:get back to work. You have servers to manage ;) (SW ones) yes bear. plain old HTTP....and an online mysql database. Just because somebody says something nice about a company that you don't like does NOT mean they work for them. If they had more than 1 account, they'd be banned by now...I'm sure all the mods would agree.I used Server Wizards for a very long time and never had any issues. I don't see why you are whining on a forum when they've offered to settle things with you.Edit: For the record, I don't work for them either before you have another paranoia attack. Are you like...paranoid or something? With that.... I believe this thread has gone far enough.
