server-side information needed

Hello,
Need to know where i might be able to find information on JSP, ASP, XML, etc. Mainly for a server-side programming aspect.JSP - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.jguru.com">http://www.jguru.com</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://java.internet.com">http://java.internet.com</a><!-- m -->
ASP - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.asp101.com/">http://www.asp101.com/</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.aspwire.com/">http://www.aspwire.com/</a><!-- m -->
XML - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.xmlinfo.com/">http://www.xmlinfo.com/</a><!-- m -->
CGI - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.perlaccess.com">http://www.perlaccess.com</a><!-- m -->

Assorted mix of everything:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.w3.org">http://www.w3.org</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.irt.org">http://www.irt.org</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://scriptsearch.internet.comIf">http://scriptsearch.internet.comIf</a><!-- m --> i have my site hosted by someone else...will it be able to handle server-side pages or will i simply be only able to develop client-side pages. The one hosting service i have does not allow CGI scripting due to the fact that they use CGI's to parse, retrieve and send information about the page that is saved on their servers. I might assume that they wont let me do server-side paging, since the difference between CGI and JSP/ASP is not a whole lot of difference. Just wondering.Contact your host and ask them about using SSI's, nobody here will know unless they are familiar with your host.

The fact that the host uses cgi to do some parsing should not preclude your being able to use cgi/php/asp, its probably more of a case that they just don't want to bother setting it .

Why not find a new host?

BTW...nice avatar ;)

Regards,
KevinWell, the more and more i keep looking for a service that will handle CGI's, ASP, JSP, etc. The more i find out that they actually cost money. I personally dont want to pay for a site that might only last 3 to 5 yrs. Now i wouldnt mind paying, if it was a personal site. Hell, if it was a personal site, I would just host it off of my computer.

Well, if any of you know of a free-based web-host, that will allow dynamic content. Please let me know. I am looking to make a preferred JSP page.Good luck finding a free JSP host. I've tried everything, but it must cost the hosts too much to offer hosting for free. Let me know if you find anything.
