I have a site that shows up in google as no 736 for company formation but when i run an allinanchor:company formation search i come up as no 6I thought that my page was very well optimised.what do i need to work on.page optimisation or backlinks??What are you ranked in MSN and Yahoo for that same phrase?Three, so I think my on page SEO is fairly good.If your doing well in MSN and Yahoo, I think it is more of an off-page factor. How old is the site because with many of my new clients, it has been taking months to get good positioning in Google, while MSN and Yahoo, it takes much less time. The site is a couple of years old but I started working for the company just over 2 months ago and finished the redesign just over a month ago.I am a firm believer in the power of DMOZ with Google. It looks like many, possibly all the top listings in the serps for that keyword have DMOZ listings. This could be the key? Because it looks like your site is optimized well and has a nice Pagerank.Aww Crap.Thats not what I wanted to hear.any suggestions in how to speed up a DMOZ listing.Bribes perhaps, Selling my soul to satan.Kidnapping, Beggingsome sort of technical solution. How long have you been awaiting review?2 months.first thing I did was to submit to DMOZ when I took over.is increasing backlinks even more worth anything or will I need a DMOZ listing.there must be other things we can do though....i mean, DMOZ can't be the be all, end all? no doubt it helps....but who can really afford to wait up to 2 years to get into it?i've submitted my sites to DMOZ....but to be honest i don't even bother to waste my time waiting for them and checking it......i checked the status at the forum the other day, but was told that the site had been resubmitted recently and to come back in 1 month..... once you've submitted, there really isn't a lot else you can do but wait.....and do other things instead. The site at no 14 in the ranking for company formation has no DMOZ listing.Im going to try increasing backlinks even more.Whats the address of the DMOZ forum again, and is there any way to find out who is the editor for a specific section.Would a (pay for inclusion request) actually work.darksat:http://www.resource-zone.com - forum address for DMOZ. you need to register to post, and you need to post a link to the exact category that you submitted your site to.as regards to the editors of each category: if you go to a category and scroll all the way down past the listings, there will be a small box which will say either:"editors of this category:"name, name, name"or:"volunteer to become an editor for this category" - which basically means that there is no editor for that category....lastly, i don't think they have a PFI option.JoeFound it already Thanks. It has an editor.I wonder is it worth ringing him up and asking nicely.the PFI I mentioned would have been directly to the editor (Si comprende).I would not contact the editor directly ... I am sure they already get several dozen a day from frustrated webmasters. If they read it at all ... it is probably considered SPAM. Just because YOU want it now, does not make it a priority for DMOZ.Its only been 2 months. I consider that still early. I have contacted editors after about 6 months and a few then added me immediately.
