I'm a PR6. in my target keyword, apart from the official site(s), the highest any fansite has is a 6. I'm one of only two that I know of that has a 6.we have MORE links coming to us than they do.we've got a lot of content, and we're adding more all the time.our keyword density (and sheer number) is higher than that of the other PR6 site.we use good internal linking and all that, we have alt text with the target text on <i>every</i> page linking back to the main page.yet we're still on the 6th page in the SERP while they're in #1 spot (even above official sites). even quite a few PR5 and some PR4 sites come before us!http://www.ffshrine.org - our sitehttp://www.ffonline.com - the other PR6any help/tips for improving our SERP would really be appreciated.the keywords we're going for are "final fantasy"Concentrate on the site content and get more IBLs with the target keywords as the anchor text. And come the other Google PR and IBL update and watch your site coming up in the first page All the best!Cheers,Check out: site:www.ffonline.com and site:www.ffshrine.orgNotice the title tags they are using. In addition to what cyberax suggested, I would also work on your title tags....also don't expect to see any big changes in your rankings til you are crawled again....check google's cache to see when you new pages are indexed and existing pages are re-indexed.phaugh: what were you pointing out about the title tags, specifically?also: if I usually get "Final Fantasy Shrine" as my anchor text, will that help for the keyword/phrase "Final Fantasy"? or just "Final Fantasy Shrine"?If you look at their titles they are using Final Fantasy in almost all of them. Most of your pages have FF Shrine as the title.Using Final Fantasy Shrine in both your title and anchor text will give you the boost you need! You might be able to get away with just doing it on you opening page. You might also consider adding a small paragraph of text right above the body part of your page....where it says Artist's Junction Update...in the paragraph metion Final Fantasy.disgust wrote:is there any confirmation that it'll help more if the link was "Final Fantasy" as opposed to "Final Fantasy Shrine"?and does anchor text count just as much as alt text in an img that's linked?disgust wrote:I'm guessing that's some sort of bug:http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ gives me 15,000+ for "final fantasy" next closest is like 3,000I seem to be moving up in the SERPS, but very, very slowly. like 2-5 spots a week. guess I just have to be patient...I've heard that <h> is somewhat depreciated... I normally just use bold tags for the "title" on each page, should I switch to h1 or would it not matter much?HMRMM!!!!
