I researched on various topics but none of them gave me an answer I was looking for.
My question is
I have to register a domain website.com. Searching on Google, I have found that there are variants of this domain like: websites.com - 360 monthly searches, mywebsites.com - 310 monthly searches, mywebsite.com - 270 monthly searches, website.com - 224 monthly searches. I will need to register and use the four fields as a primary domain? Should I just register with the highest number of searches per month? Taking possession of these results, what is a better way to proceed? which one would be best for registration?
Another question: If the person is seeking only for the Google sites, for example if I register the organic websites.com, would people find me? And that would leave me well placed?
Thank in advance for all the tips.. If you are registering a domain just because of its keyword significance, it would not help you much except for that particular keyword in your domain name. And that too if there are not many sites optimizing on that particular keyword.
You will definitely have an advance on that keyword, but only limited to that keyword and its slight variations. At the end of the day you will have to go through the entire process of SEO to rank better in search results. Targetting keywords using the url is good strategy. However, it needs lot of research to find the desired keyword for your site apart from the simple Google search. Also, further keywords can be added to the homepage and inner pages with careful efforts going into it. Well, just go for the higher keywords. 360 is not a lot and the remaining is not too little too. They might change from time to time. You should choose for your domain name which have highest search volume and related to your business. Keywords in domain does matter in search engine ranking Website name doesn't have a great effect if you wanna see your site in Search Engines rankings. But try to choose the website name as your business related word and the website name as small be better for ranking. You should also try to avoid hyphens for your domain name.
After that try to do more Seo activity to rank your website as better. keyword domains do have an advantage in search results for that keyword. Questions of how serious is the competition are important to weather you will rank well. You will have to build links no matter what.
Are you shooting for a small niche or is this a larger linger term project? Some people say it is best to have a memorable domain name for overall popularity.
I think it is important if you will be able to make pages with related keywords and add enough content so that you are targeting a related theme and not just one keyword.
