point 11. Your answers would probably be best answered by reading SEOmoz, they have just released their industry experts pdf where they give their opinion on how important each metric may be. Ultimately nobody knows apart from Google. Hi,

In opinion following things are considered for weighting a link:

1. Relevancy of site, if your site is regarding clothes than having a link from a site dealing with cars is worthless. So, relevancy is very important.

2. PR, having links with high PR sites have a direct effect on site ranking. 5 links from PR 7 sites have a lot more impact than 50 links of PR 2 sites. Man!??*
Volumes have been written on the subject

Nice idea for a discussion but way too involved for a forum post answer

And then there is the fact that nothing is proven so everyone is just working fro anecdotes and experience - The popularity of the website that you put your link (PR, web traffic, and quality of the website)
- The relevancy
- The content that you use on that page I think you should learn from here- http://www.vanseodesign.com/seo/answ...seo-questions/ In a nutshell:

1) Relevance (site title, content used on it, etc)
2) PR
3) # of other outbound links (relevant to link juice passing)

That's about it really...oh and one more...

4) Authority Site in niche industry or not a trusted site yet I think the anchor text in your backlink and the title of the linking page might be more important.

You guys think relevancy of site makes a real difference...i dont know.. I believe it is still the same metrics just like the way we get used to it. I don't think they changed or added any...

Yep, Relevancy helps a lot as well as the PR of the pages that you have a link up.
Anchor text and keywords are very much important in terms of rankings.

For me, I don't care if it's a nofollow or not. I see some sites that has a nofollow attribute but still counts as backlinks from Google. Link is a link..
