SEO is a shutdown or a monthly service? Did you continue to pay for a type of service each month? SEO is like all forms of markerting and should be taken as so. You need to continually do it to stay competitive, assume all your competitors are optimizing all the time and therefore you should be too. Once you are at the top of the rankings for your keywords then you have to work to stay there - and if you're not number 1 in the rankings then you still have work to do! If you want to have SEO services mean your site has high competition, SEO services need to be continues after getting good rank on search engine as you stop working your competitors will get high ranking than you immediately. SEO is a changing animal.......once may hold a site for a period of time..
but sooner of later some change will require updating on the site SEO..... Your site need not necessarily have high competition. SEO is used to firstly get your site noticed on the web and is then used to drive a constant stream of traffic to your site to convert visitors into customers.

Its constant, and should really not be thought of lightly. Just about every business and website on the interwebs has done some form of SEO work, be it on page or off. As Jim says its a changing animal. You have to keep up with the trends and Google updates, as well as any other Search Engine algo and adapt your SEO campaign to keep your business in the top rankings. SEO is a ongoing process and solid marketing platform. If you want to gain market share and beat your competitors then you need to do SEO regular basis. It would be best to continually monitor and improve your SEO efforts. Competitors come and go, Google changes it ranking factors, new search engines gain ground, etc. In my opinion SEO never stop. Now if you don't have any competiton , or your competiton is day dreaming it may be possible. But i doubt that I have some projects that need continuous marketing and some others are just one timers.

Would depend on what type of thing you want to promote and its competition in the market. SEO is an ongoing process. You always need to update your website according to expectation of your visitors, according to Search Enigne algorithm changes. First you should make your website SEo friendly and then work for ranking. once you got the desired ranking you need to work hard to remains on that position. Keep in mind that your competitors are always doing their bit to overcome your rank. Quote: Originally Posted by Nate55 if you're not number 1 in the rankings then you still have work to do! Bingo.
