Hello v7n forum users,

What is the use of noarchive tags. Please tell me in brief i am waiting for your response.

Thanks! Meta tag are html code that are inserted into the header on the webpages after the title tag.In seo meta tag we simply define title, description and keyword.Once added the meta tag will appear in the website header when viewing a single product. True, but respectfully the OP asked about a noarchive tag.

I had a look at the webmaster tools about this and it says : Quote: noarchive: prevents Google from showing the Cached link for a page. You can read more about it here: Webmaster tools

Hope this helps. I'm wondering why the Sr. SEO of a firm is asking this. In fact I do not know the so-called no archive tag. There may be other claims, but I intuitively think that this is not conducive seo, just intuitively, maybe I was wrong. By the way, some meta tags can be too redundant to use so it's a good thing to define and identify them from the other. Noarchive tag means instruct search engine to Do Not cache. It does not instruct do not cache the page... It simple prevents the search engines from showing cached version of the page. There are snippets and references on this page regarding the noarchive meta tag:
Quote: References and information pertaining to the archiving of Internet documents e.g. cache, the potential risks and, methods of prevention.
Search Engines Index of References - The NoArchive Initiative I feel the reason behind the usage of noarchive tag is because one can only get the meta descriptions displayed in search engines for the site descriptions. To the OP, let me introduce you to a link: http://www.google.com. Please share it with your co-workers who are not only similarly puzzled by the basics of the industry in which they purportedly make a living, but also by the use of google and V7n forum search function.
