Wondering whats a better way to type meta keywords

In this way: Key1, key2, key3 or key1 key2 key3

I assume that when you type , those keywords are separated.

But since those keywords are related maybe its better to type

Key1 key2 key3 - because sometimes if people will type in google key2 key3 you will match for exact phrase

but if they type key2 key3 - and you build your keywords key2, key3 then you might not get a high listing for matched phrase.

What are your thoughts on this? Think you will do better without the commas.....
However, I am sure we will more posts to prove me wrong..
I will still use mine without the commas...... Although I wouldn't spend a lot of time worried about the meta keyword tag, there are still some places where it is used. The common break used is the comma. I need to clarify my response. You do not need the commas between every word, but rather between every needed break. For example:

keyword, keyword phrase, keyword, another keyword phrase Quote: Originally Posted by richgambler Wondering whats a better way to type meta keywords

Key1, key2, key3 is the right way - but I've seen top ranking pages use Key1 key2 key3 - don't think it really makes too much difference - but use commas and spaces if it will let you sleep at night

bing/yahoo do use keywords

google don't use keywords - but don't penalize you if you use them

make sure you only use keywords that appear in the on-page content - and that every page of the site uses unique keywords - i.e. not every page of the site has the same keywords in the keyword meta tags

page titles and descriptions are far more important - make sure they start with your best unique keyword phrase for that page Key1, key2, key3 is the better way to type meta keywords. The sites having good page rank also using like this, else comma is separate the keywords. If you dont seperate the keywords with commas then you can also pick up longtail keywords... Ok but does it make sense to use Key1 key2 key3

Because sometimes your page will show up in the search results when they type some phrase key2 key3 or key1 key 3 if thos keywords are related. Quote: Originally Posted by richgambler Ok but does it make sense to use Key1 key2 key3

Yes it makes perfect sense, because by omitting the commas, you open the way to pick up not just each keyword seperately, but also combinations of keywords as longtail keywords. Ok, you're looking at this in too much detail

Search engines are not dumb - they read the keywords and know what they are either way

Most important point many of you are missing is that the contents of the keywords metatag must reflect what's on the page in question - so all you have to do is create your page content then copy and paste the best phrases that occur naturally in your writing, into the keywords meta tag

Wordpress blog owners can install a plugin to pull out a long list of keyword phrases from the post content - then they can choose which phrases appear in the keywords metatag Quote: Originally Posted by Cricket I need to clarify my response.
