I really could not understand that why people want to go for SEO VS SMO both concept are entirely different, SEO related with page rank and SERP whereas SMO related with traffic. Traffic can be generated through PPC but page rank and SERP cannot be genereted without onpage optimization and of page optimization.
SMO is only ADDED feature of SEO and not more that.
