Sending XHTML as text/html Considered Harmful

Some of you might find this article by Ian Hixie on why sending XHTML as text/html is harmful (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hixie.ch/advocacy/xhtml">http://www.hixie.ch/advocacy/xhtml</a><!-- m -->) interesting. I warn you that this sort of thing is not for the faint of heart. I've been doing a bit of research into this and I'm thinking about switching back to HTML 4.01 for the time being. Of course, it doesn't make much difference on my personal page, but it is worth thinking about.<!--content-->One of the many reasons that I'm sticking to HTML 4.01 for the moment. <br />

Support for XHTML has some way to go, and XHTML is probably not going to be around very long as XHTML 2 is coming soon and not backwards compatible with XHTML 1.<br />
