I see a lot of people selling text links to their own web sites with a page rank of 4, 5, 6, etc....Is this even worthwhile to people? Do you need to be linked by a site of similar content or does it not matter as longas the site has a high page rank?Nowadays I would say that getting a link from a high PageRank site is useful but in the future search engines are going to get more clever. A liink from a differently themed site will be devalued a lot. Do a few searchs on Google etc... for 'Hilltop algorithm' or read this: http://www.seorank.com/analysis-of-hill ... orithm.htmI don't think search engines are looking at themes or related sites just yet. Actually I am quite surprised at the number of keywords where I rank higher than my link partners. Related links DO help your visitors ... Someone searching for pet supplies is not very likely to click on ads for Viagra.Speaking of nowadays, more backlinks you have the better. I am not sure if google is really that strict on relevance of this, yet they found a way to figure out if site is buying a link or getting a relevant one and in the situation of buying usually both parties suffer. However, my guess is that this is currently spreading on 8-10 PR sites, like i read that PR from phpbb.com is not given to any sites that buy links from them. Do you need to be linked by a site of similar content or does it not matter as longas the site has a high page rank? Both are important, yet i think it is better to have lower PR link from relevant site then high PR link from irrelavant.Any link exchanges I look for are always with sites in related industries. The best way to see which sites are is to go through the Google directory.I also think that paid links will become more and more commonplace once Google starts devaluing link exchanges. One way links and 3 way links will be the way to go soon. Can you help me out with that 3-way link thing, veto (or anyone). In other words, I have a sports board (obviously) -- so I link to espn.com, in turn espn.com links to nfl.com, and last nfl.com links to me. Is that what you mean? vs. I link to nfl.com and nfl.com links to me?I know that's a fairly extreme example, but do I have the idea right?yep...yourdomain.com links to mydomain.com and then myotherdomain.com links to yourdomain.comQuote:How about mysite.com/somepage.html linking to yoursite.com and yoursite.com/somepage.html linking to mysite.com ? in this way i guess there is no problem?yes, one way text link advertise is helpful for quick pagerank achivement.if you put your site link 7/8 months in PR6/7 site, you easily get PR5 within 6 months.you can try once to advertise in //link removedthis site offer one way text link in $200 year.thankspiyal bagchiInfoway, your helpful advice is appreciated. Spamming your site is not.rtchar wrote:
