Save XML document to disk how to deal with & in sitemap.xml?

I have a php code that creates an XML and it works fine, but it messes up the \[code\]&\[/code\] and converts it to \[code\]&\[/code\]I use this code to put my url into the xml:\[quote\] htmlentities($final_url);\[/quote\]and when xml file is opened, it shows\[code\]index.php?route=product/product&path=37&product_id=1101515800&pdescription\[/code\]How can I format it properly?
