Can any one tell me what exactly the sandbox is? I am very confused with it. Is it really there or not? What difference it makes with a new domain and with old domain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandbox_effecthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandbox_(computer_security)There are different types of sandboxes. The first applies to your question.Sandbox is a Search Engine program or process (somewhat like a website filter) that determines if a site is trustworthy, legitimate or spam.(Google Sandbox) When your site is cannot be seen at Google, then that might be at the sandbox. Some Search Engines prefer old domain because the legitimacy established by a certain site can be based on the time of its operation...Well not alltime but some time it effects in terms of indexing and ranking of your website......If you have an older domain, then your site and pages may index earlier but if you have a totaly new domain then it may possible that it will take little time to index your website...Sandbox - The Sandbox Effect is the theory that websites with newly-registered domains (or with pages yet to receive a PageRank calculation) are placed in a sandbox (holding area) in the indexes of Google until such time is deemed appropriate before a ranking can commence.it is a metaphorical term coined by SEOs and Webmasters w/c is not associated by google...Usually for how long does a site be in a sandbox?Hey there,The sandbox is because either used for new websites or websites that have been penalized. While a website is in this sandbox, no pages will show up in google index for that site, so it is like the website does not exist.New websites are automatically placed in this sandbox. If you just bought your domain, you can expect to wait at least 6 months before getting out of the sandbox. However, if you get some quality backlinks, that time may be decreased. I am not positive about this however.Sincerely,Travis [email protected] wrote:I add some definition sandbox is a security mechanism for safely running programs by Google.guys how would you know if your site is on the sand box? except from its not exist on SEIt is just a time frame where google or maybe other search engine too put some site in a some temporary index. these site will still be crawl and index but they won't join the main index any sooner. we never know what the time frame is but I believe there are a variety of sandbox. each one has its own algorithm. google won't openly tell us exactly what they are because we would know what we all would do when we find something that could effect our ranking positively quick. Before believing in "sandbox" anything you should checkout this article that talks about it.... http://www.jamesbrausch.org/16-day-ranking-experiment/
