I have a question regarding registrar practices. Last night, I found three names that I planned to register but got tied up helping another DP member until 4AM and thought the names would be safe for a couple hours.
Well, when I woke up this morning I checked the domain names and all 3 were registered. This is no coincidence, because this has happened to me before at GoDaddy.com. I wrote Parson and he told me that he does not sell the list.
I suspect that for each domain name that is unregistered the registrar tracks the registration and sells the lists to third parties. For example if I search for domain sex.com and it is available but not registered it shows on the list.
Third parties use the list to register available names. I am pissed to say the least, because these registrars are gouging too. Registering the names and offering them as premium names for overvalued prices.
