regarding installing teh Skins

hey guys i installed the skins properly on my files in my host but when i clicked the skin it appears wrong like a v bulletin default style skin

can anyone guide me through this?

it just frustrates me a hell lot and i need to know because i want to start my forum soon
 
mate you need to import the XML for the style that came with the zip/rar/tar for your skins, and by doing that you go
styles & templates>> download/upload styles>> then browse your files and import your xml to the db>> name it and give it a display order etc..
and then you will see a new style has been created and will be the ones that you uploaded to your server
 
go to those screens via the admin cp like i instruicted.
xml to DB is just importing the text and all DB commands of adding the new templates aand style etc... to the database so then it will be installed.
just do what i said and your skins will be up :P
 
are you sure your importing the correct XML?
maybe the folder structure you uploaded to on your server is wrong/typo'd

right click where an image should be in firefox and click view image
then see the URL, and if the URL shows something like this

http://www.domain.tld/forum/styles/misc/logo.gif

if for eg it was something like above ^. Then you will need to upload the contents of the style to the folder

public_html/forum/styles/
etc for whatever your URL states.

forums/images/styles/TimeTraveler/ ?
btw, the case sensitive does matter if you are on a linux server. which is common
so make sure the folder structure is correct
