Postnuke and phpnuke seem to be a little too much for what I need, I just wanted something good but not overly complex to setup. It has to be PHP at least, I do have access to mysql so thats fine as well.
I did a search on these forums and didnt find any threads that reviewed them. I also spent way too much time on hotscripts.com looking at a few, there are just way too many I think.
Basically I need a news, links, Download , image gallery content manager.
any suggestions?

A nice PHP CMS that has a gallery and isn't too obtrusive is one I use at PHPUpdate (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.php-update.co.uk">http://www.php-update.co.uk</a><!-- m -->). They have both a flatfile and MySQL version. Nice little script 
If you have a decent php knowledge it's not that hard to make your own...even though you probably wouldn't be posting this if you did...
