Real or fake links, how to recognize?

For example, putting my site in Facebook. Does it generate real or fake links. How can I check that? Do you know techniques? Do you mean do-follow or no-follow links?
Using a site like backlinkwatch will be sufficient for this task. Quote: Originally Posted by annushka For example, putting my site in Facebook. Does it generate real or fake links. How can I check that? Do you know techniques? Like the previous poster, I'm guessing that you're referring to do-follow versus no-follow links. If that's the case, you can easily use your browser's "View Source" capability to see if a no-follow tag is applied to the link. Just do a search for the URL you're interested in and examine the code for the link. Quote: Originally Posted by annushka For example, putting my site in Facebook. In my own experiences, all links appearing after account logging in like links in your facebook posts or emails would not be picked up by search engines as back links since search engines are not possible to log into your accounts.

all the best, What do you mean by real or fake link?
If you mean dofollow or nofollow
then you can just view the source of page through your browser
and find the code for the link you are searching for by searching "<a href" in the coide and see if there there is rel="nofollow" or rel="follow" in the code there is follow or nothing then the link is dofollow and if there is "nofollow" then the link is no follow.
And facebook links are nofollow. that was a good question even i wanna know that, how to find a real or fake site,..is there is any software or applications for it,if so pleas share.Thank you Quote: Originally Posted by chesterpyke that was a good question even i wanna know that, how to find a real or fake site,..is there is any software or applications for it,if so pleas share.Thank you No well i was not found any kind of software for such analysis but we recognized it by manual analysis with the help of some tools and ad-ons. If you are talking about whether the links are nofollow/dofollow then you can use something like SeoQuake, available as an addon for Firefox/Chrome, and set it up so that it highlights all nofollow links (by putting a horizontal line though them) Quote: Originally Posted by AirForce1 Hi,

all the best, They make exceptions for the big boys like FB! You'll get comments picked up from pages and other public profiles. But you're right.. the main site links in the profile page won't be indexed/crawled if your profile-page is locked down. All the links you post to pages, public profiles, and groups will be nofollow though. Install the Plugin and activate it. Nofollow links are high lighted as pink and links which are followed are shown as blue. Open the source page of that page and check the link property of your link. If its nofollow then no use of that link.. otherwise it is useful.
