Ok i think its time for me to look into servers instead of reseller accounts, so far our hosting is just for our design customers, but some of the reseller horror stories are making me nervous!. I do not ahve time to manage the server itself, so love to get it managed. What is your best managed server company you would recommend?First you have to specify what type of server your require .. any specification linux or windows .. do you require a hardware firewall .. you have to pay extra for control panel .. if you are using MS SQL in your reseller account you have to purchase a license for that too ..Without MS SQL license which if you require .. it should cost you atleast 450-650$ fully managed .. also depend on the hardware configuration too.. Best in the business is Rackspace.com , cartikahosting.com liquidweb.com also you can check verio.com .. wiredtree.com .. zone.netsome of the reseller horror stories are making me nervous!I don't see how a managed dedicated will guarantee better service. It all goes back to a company doing a good job or... not. Horror stories can be found everywhere, even in thoroughly regulated industries like say nuclear power generation or air travel.I have a question are you having problem with your current host ?Look at Platinum and Touch Support to manage your boxes. They don't offer managed bundles (as far as I know) so you need to scope that out yourself. Can get pricy but peace-of-mind is seldom cheap.Another alterntive, which may be more cost effective, is to mirror your hosting with two separate resellers so that if one goes away or starts jerking you around you just point your nameservers to the other one. It doesn't really take any more time to manage this system than it would to make your regular backups. Some hosts will tell you to get lost if you say that you want to do this, others will be totally cool and helpful. It might take some calling and email to find two that you like.Ok i think its time for me to look into servers instead of reseller accounts, so far our hosting is just for our design customers, but some of the reseller horror stories are making me nervous!. PSM (Platinum Server Management) hands down. $29 a month for the first server and $19 a month for the second server.. all for a fully managed server with usa based techs working around the clock. I have been with PSM for awhile now and I have no room to complain. They are great! All of their techs always work fast and they even monitor your server so when it goes down they keep updating you every 5 minuets untill your server is up but better yet. They contact your provider to have it rebooted!!
Check out their site, give them a call and talk to one of them. They are great people, this is why I countinue to support them every day.PSM (Platinum Server Management) hands down. $29 a month for the first server and $19 a month for the second server.. all for a fully managed server with usa based techs working around the clock. I also use platinumservermanagement and they have done so much for me. Just the fact to know that the technicians are available 24 hours a day and that I can just open a ticket anytime I have a problem it makes me feel more at ease. No wonder I keep adding more servers with them to support Keep up the great work guys :agree:If he is looking fully managed operation including sales.. dont' think PSM is right solutions.. since it's just server administration..
vajjas1, you are looking for fully managed operation for your hosting company? or is this just technical side?IMHO i recommend to go with a one stop solution .. so that you don't have to be a sandwich between two companies ..
