I just read today's SEO tips and found that I had similar experience when I was building links for switchr.net . Besides some blog posts, if I'm not mistaking I found some scrappers copied one of the forum posts where I announced the launch of switch.net in advertising section.
But the thing is those are short term back links and also lower in quality. Yes, they are usually lower in quality; still, if you are going to get scraped you might as well get links out of it, I thought.
The article also reminded me to always link contextually within my own posts to other parts of my site.
