I am new at html but I am learning everyday. I got stuck on something at my site. http://www.geocities.com/saverain/

My site is a guitar sheet music site. I supply musicians with sheet music for certain songs and I would like to place a rate button by every sheet music name so that when they rate it the page will come back and next to the name will be the number they rated the music.

I also want to add a search engine to my site. I want people to be able to type in the artist they are searching for and be able to go to the page within my site that corresponds to that artist.

I have searched everywhere for help and haven't had any luck so far so if you could please help me. If someone helps me I will come to this forum just about everyday.only with serverside code like cgi, php, or asp. pure html does not have the power to search. Thanks a lot.
I am going to look those up right now.Is cgi like c or c++.Well I think it is. I know a little about c but I usually use it to program robots and stuff. I don't know how it is used on the net. Can you please give me a hint if you know?well php is a derivitive of c, and that is the closest I think, compared to cgi/perlIt's been almost 2 years since I used Geocities so I could be wrong, but I don't think they support Server Side Programming at all. At least for the free hosting.
