Seeing as Google ranks subpages and not domains, would it be possible to make a one-page website rank well?
At least it seems possible in theory to me. What about you?
Keep in mind: the on-page optimization (and the backlinks pointing to the site as well) would be of great quality. Everything about the site would be top notch so to say, except for the amount of content.
There would be no sub pages. Your thoughts? Hi Sweely,
There are all sorts of one page sites that rank well for both SERPs and PR. Legit Online Jobs immediately comes to mind.

P.s. There are a couple sub pages, but I assume you'd have something along the lines of a privacy policy, terms, and such as well. I consider these "one page" type sites. I have a single page site that ranks well with much larger competing sites. It's not a problem to rank a single website. Same principles apply that you would use for any other website. Yes, it's a good idea to do the SEO of One page website. Rather than giving your efforts to all the pages of big sites, you can easily concentrate on One Page and its results . You can rank well with a One Page Website. I have several one page websites, and in fact there are many advantages of a one page website.
Just add lots of user interactivity on the website.
Best of luck. I don't think there's any differences on a single page website and multi pages websites, in terms of getting good rankings in search engines. It is on how well the page/s is/are, keyword rich content and backlinks... Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe in this statement. You ca rank with single page website but what will be use of it.. Will you stuff all information on the single page. That is not standard website and I think many of link builders have this type of page, and there link requests are ignored by learned webmasters. These types of possibility are available in very rear sites. If suppose your site is well content and the content is very helpful for the users then it is possible to get ranked in Google because your site need less promotion and it is very easy to get traffic, so automatically your site power will increase and it is require very less link building for Google ranking. yes obiviously you can rank well on google's 1st page if you will get proper off page and on page seo done. it is possible.. google or other SEs might find the one page website as friendly and quality.. it also depends on the popularity of it.. One page website may rank well in search results but could give you faulty conversion in your analytics. Also, one page websites have low competition against well-distributed contents of more than two page websites since the crawling activity may be more active in the latter. Oh, wow! Thanks for all the answers. Never expected this there is not a problem about one page website you can get pr on one page website .. Yes it is possible to rank with a one page website as long as you have quality content and backlinks, however because of the fact that it is also imperative to add fresh content to your site i think such ranking would only hold until a competitor with stronger links and fresher content would come along. I don't think there's any differences on a single page website and multi pages websites. We can rank single page . All depands on the type of content on the webpage..it does not matter how many web page the web site has.. If I many one page websites that rank particularly well, and most of them have outperformed authority sites in the SERPS ! It's been possible only due to proper SEO.
