Question about forum/blog posts

This question has been asked a number of times, so sorry in advance. But here is what I need to know:

1) Does the amount of links you have coming from one specific DOMAIN matter to Google? So if I have hundreds of links coming from this forum, for example, does it matter any more than if I only had one link?

2) Does having multiple links with different anchor text on the same PAGE (blahblahblah.com/page1) have any affect on rankings? Does it have more of an effect if you have Keyword 1 on (blah.com/page1) and Keyword 2 on (blah.com/page2) ?

let me know! thanks Hello LilyEntrust,

100 links from 100 domains will most likely be better than 100 links from 1 domain. To answer your question, yes 100 links from this forum is much better than just 1 from here.

For your second question, your links are worth more when there are less of them on the same page. If you have way too many links, they will have less link juice. Thanks for your response.

But if you have two different links on one page (say, two different comments on one blog post) does the second link not matter? Like does the first one nullify it? Both links would both have some value, the first would not nullify the second. To answer your question I agree with some of those previous post about your question. I would say that 100 links from different sites is way better than having on only one site. The number of links that you get from multiple sites can have a greater impact as far as your ranking is concerned than having multiple links coming from only one site. It's important when building back-links for your site that you do it to as many sites as you can in case if something happens you don't lose everything. It is like your investments where you try to invest your wealth in different sources rather targetting a single source. Sometimes, there is a risk that the particular site is down or all your links are banned/ removed from the site. Also, with the frequent change in the Google algorithm it may discard the importance of the kind of site where you have your backlinks. Thanks guys - this was helpful. I like the investment analogy

Yes its always better to have links from different domains but sometimes it can be useful to get some links from just a singe domain. If a site that is considered to be an authority by the search engines links to you more than once that surely means something to the search engines.

As an example if you get 10 links from wikipedia or cnn that would be very useful. So its not always the uniqueness of the links sometimes the quality and uniqueness both matter.

You can surely use two keywords for a single page as long as they are related and then the rankings for each of the keywords would simply depend on the quality of the links that each keyword gets. But if the keywords are not related its better to create a separate page and then target that keyword. 1. You get backlinks from web pages not from websites... So if a website have 5 k pages and you are getting backlinks from some 100 pages, that will be perfectly fine.

2. In my opinion, if you are linking page repeatedly, this means the web page is very important for your website. I don't think there is any harm in placing multiple anchor text pointing to same page. yes you can give more than one link from different anchor tag if that anchor tag word is relevant to your website or it is related to your web content. For example in a blog post you can make back link more than one for a single URL through different anchor tags if the anchor tags words are relevant and are from the keywords of your website.
And yes having more than 1 back link from this forum would be definitely good for your site. But while posting and leaving the back links here in this forum please make sure that the content you post must be relevant and same with the link. Yes, it is always good to get the back links from different domains. We can get some value of that site's page so it is useful for increasing our page's value.
