Question about backward links

Hey all...When I am checking a website for his backwards links (for example mydomain.com) I see sometimes 600 backlinks that 90% of them are from the domain that I am checking : Mydomain.com . My questions are : 1. How come google is considering those links as backward links?2. Is those links are considered as good as backward links from another websites?3.
