Hi
Note sure where to post this question.
I want to create an Mp3 jukebox so I can access and play my MP3 library from the office.

But I am wondering if I continuously stream MP'3's I might exceed my monthly bandwidth allowance.

Can anyone give me an idea what the bandwidth requirements would be for the following:

streaming of MP3, 8 hours a day , 5 days a week for one month for one user.

Thanks in advance
Jim Bachalo
I realize that this doesn't answer your question ... however ...

You can put about 120 songs on one CD, and over 500 songs on 1 DVD ...

So why not just burn yourself a few CDs or a DVD ... then you don't have to rely on all that technology to accomplish this?

Just my thought ... that was offered ... without solicitation.
Just a little algebra.

[60 minutes]x[8 hours a day]x[5 days a week]x[4 weeks a month] = 9600 minutes. Multiply that times however big a minute's worth of MP3-encoded music is. Depending on the bit rate, that could vary. 9600x[1 minute of MP3]=[used bandwidth]. If 1min.=1MB (and I'm too lazy to look up the actual numbers), you would use 9.6GB. Or just burn some CDs.
Tim,

That is about right. I would not advise doing this on a shared account either. Remember that the resources you will be using may affect other users. I would follow Bills advice and make CD's. Lets not forget that you are required to be the owner of the files you put on your account as well.
