What is the purpose of long tail back link key word?
Example: The link to a site says: office space for lease lake mary fl
Does this only help my google ranking for this long keyword???
Would creating a backlink with this keyword also help my pagerank for the keywords:
office space
lease lake mary
etc.? Using Long tail? It is like hitting 2 birds in 1 shot. You are targeting 2 KWs at the same time. the purpose of using long tail is to target a kws that are not hard to rank. Since most known kws these days have alot competitors.. Initially when you suffer heavy competition for you new site, you should use a long tail keyword. When your ranking is established, then try to work on short tail keyword. By using long tail keyword, you may get high ranking very fast but keep in mind that they are not able to send heavy traffic to your website. no doubt long tail keywords are competitive keywords therefore easy to rank in Google SERPs but the main disadvantage of these type of keywords is that they are infrequently searched for keywords, therefore considered as low search volume keywords where you are unlikely to get much traffic to your site even if you manage to rank #1. If you are targeting long tail keywords, you have to optimize them by backlinking them.

1- Long tail keywords provide better conversion rate (if you are ranked on top)
2- Usually long tail keywords are less competitive so take lesser time to get high ranking, On the other hand short tail keywords are highly competitive and need more time and effort to be ranked on top. Sometime it become impossible to new sites to be ranked high for short tail keywords
3- Long tail keywords provides instant result that's why beneficial for business owners who are unable to effort time and money needed to be ranked well for short tail keywords
