Hi,
does anybody know what are proxy sites and how can it be useful for seo purpose??? Proxy sites hide your ip when you surf the net so you can surf anonymously. yeah "jaysontea" is correct...proxy sites are used when your finding you keyword's position...a country specific proxy site gives you correct position of the keyword in that country or region...that's my experience...share your comments.. Proxy sites are being used for 2 purposes:
1) Surfing web sites anonymous.
2) Getting access to filtered or blocked websites.
But most of them have some problems. Some of them don't support Java script and some others have lots of Ads and some others have limitation to the bandwidth you can use. It is very useful for Chinese. China blocks facebook, youtube, myspace, ..... So we get access to these sites by proxy. Proxy site is to hide your IP by not directly accessing the webserver of the site but accessing the server of proxy and getting the site contents through proxy server.
It is helpful to hide your original IP.
Many SEO use this to make multiple account in Social bookmarking site using different proxies to bookmark some site from many accounts and make it look like a popular site.
