I have a site that's about 45 days old now and still nothing via Google. It appears when searched indirectly via other vendors but not directly. I have a generic account through Google that when I log on and search site:www.website.com, nothing appears. I have manually submitted my site to Google numerous times and still nothing. What is the index times it takes Google to find and index a new site? Is there anything I can do or that I'm doing wrong here?It can take anywhere between 24 hours to never..You just have to be patient and work on getting backlinks.Submitting it multiple times will not help Submit it to dmoz - if they add the site ( can take upto 2 weeks to get added on there)... then when google picks up the dmoz dump it will be able to index your site.Again it is no guarantee - but can ensure that it gets spidered and indexed...from dmoz site about how search how search engines handle their weekly data release...Quote:Quote:You definitely need some quality back links (i.e. back links from page with high PR). You can try to exchange link with sites with similar topic as yours and post your articles to some forums (and leave a link as your signature). From our experience, we've our site indexed by google within a month after we started posting in forums (and we've got a back link from a PR 5 page).Hope the above can help.Having the SEs "find" your site is definitely better than submitting it to them, in my experience. And whatever you do, DON'T submit more than once - they don't like that. The best way to have them find your sites is to create backlinks - try submitting to directories, or writing articles and submitting to article directories - both should help create backlinks, and subsquently, indexing in the SEs.HTH,SamOne of our favorite methods to get listed and also just provide some good general internet visibility is to submit a press release through an online PR provider. I know there are a ton out there, but we tend to use PRWeb.com the most. I would google 'submit press release' if you want to find some others.good luckI've had good results with PRWeb, as well.SamBacklinks, of course, like everyone has said, is a great way to increase your chances of not only getting indexed but actually gaining some PageRank. Here is a post from one of our forum members. Not sure where he got it, but it was in regards to how many backlinks it takes to achieve certain PR. I thought it was VERY useful info.:::* 101 PR4 backlinks to reach PR5* 555 PR4 backlinks for PR6* 3,055 PR4 backlinks for PR7* 16,803 PR4 backlinks for PR8And only:* 1 PR7 backlinks to reach PR5* 3.5 PR7 backlinks for PR6* 18.5 PR7 backlinks for PR7* 101 PR7 backlinks for PR8Hey David,Thanks very much for sharing that information, and it matches what I've heard and read in various places on the Web. That being, the PR scale is logarithmic, not linear, so it takes a lot more to move from PR5 to PR6 than it does to move from PR4 to PR5, etc. I'd be interested to know where he got this information...SamYou're welcome. I'm still trying to find where he got that...I'm sure this was only an excerpt.
