I am working for an SEO that has two main clients. One targets local and state search terms that are related to their industry. And they have been successful in maintaining high ranks. My other client is now moving to the same locality as the aforesaid client. They also share the same industry.
Now, as an SEO I am confused. If I work well for one, I would still be doing badly for the other. Do I accept this offer, or do I drop the client? Is there a code of behaviour suggested for this situation? You should do your work as best as you can as they are trusted you. So i suggest you to only do one of them if you can't manage both of them together. I have clients who are competing for the same keywords, but the original client recommended me to the second. I think you need to discuss this with the clients. Quote: Originally Posted by mjtaylor I have clients who are competing for the same keywords, but the original client recommended me to the second. The situation should work itself out. what's with the doubt with your skills? remember that SEO is a long time and continues process.. it really takes time so you don't have to worry about.. put your efforts and remember google has 10 slots on first pages, you can have 8 more clients, lol Do the best for both... you will probably be good for both because if you have experience in that niche they can rank 1. and 2.... Also, there is no probably just one keyword but many longtails so they can have good share of traffic both... I will also say the same accept both clients and give your best to both and also make them aware of the fact that you are working for both of them Quote: Originally Posted by bogs what's with the doubt with your skills? remember that SEO is a long time and continues process.. it really takes time so you don't have to worry about.. How does this relate to the OP? I'd say to be fair you could do:
in odd months optimize the content of client 1,
in even moths optimize the content of client 2
or maybe you could talk to them and say Client 1 what search engine do you want?
Google, Yahoo OR Bing for the current month ?
then client 2 chooses from the remaining choices.
the next month the clients are swapped.
just an idea
