I have a section in my forum where current information is posted that I don't want non registered users to see. However that section has a lot of content that is a draw for visitors who can potentially become registered users. If I make the forum private guests will not see anything there and I don't want this.
What I envision is the following: A forum where guests can see all the threads listed, but when they click on them they get a message telling them to register to see the content of the thread. Further I would like threads older than a set time period, two weeks for example, to automatically become visible to guests and not have this limitation.
I realize that this is asking a lot but maybe this has been done already. The mod "Guests first post only" would be good except in my forum all the information I don't want guests to see is always in the first post of the thread. Also "Guests first post only" applies to all threads in a forum.
Basically I want old threads to automatically become viewable to guests after a predetermined time from when the thread was started, and threads newer than this time to not be viewable. Thanks in advance and I would like to know about partial solutions to this if they exist.
