Hey guys I just have a simple question.
I bought a domain and started a website on the 10th of June. It is my first SEO project EVER and I feel as though I am doing pretty good. I haven't made a link since this last Tuesday (just because I had some internet troubles) so I expected to fall back on Google from the page 20 (of 3,000,000 "results") that I was on last time I checked. Well, I actually checked earlier and I am on page 16. I'm completely stoked! (Page 2 for another less searched keyword combination.)
Well I also just now noticed that I have a PR of 0. Is this better than having no PR? Or is it the same thing? I know some websites show up on my Google Chrome PR checker as just a "?" and have no PR so I'm guessing PR0 is better than no PR? lolz ... yeah a 0 PR is better than having no pagerank (if it makes you feel better). But there's still a loong way to go, PR 0 is next to nothing 0 page rank is not treated as unranked..Because say for eg:urs is new site and it wont have any page rank ,it will 0 page rank.Then is that ur site doesnt have any useful information??No na..thats y 0 page rank is not cosidered as unranked....... So Google -kind of- likes me? They think my site has sort of useful information? Essentially, there are no different between PR 0 and N/A since PR 0 only means Google has ranked your site but it might be of little or no value in Google's eyes. You need to build backlinks using your targeted keywords from decent sources, especially from niche relative authority sources and keep your site fresh with also niche relative contents.

PR is solely dependent on the number of resources participating in the PR matrix, and the linkages between them.
==================================================
PageRank is a measure of probability, value range 0 to 1, that of the likelihood that a resource will be randomly requested. There are two ways in which a resource can be requested:Entering a URL into the Address Bar; or,Clicking on a link.
Since item 1 can occur regardless of whether or not there are any IBLs, every resource has a non-zero probability of being requested.
The greater the number of IBLs, the greater the probability of item 2 happening.
Since one can only enter but a single URL into the Address Bar, or click but one link at a time, and cannot do both simultaneously, these events are mutually exclusive. Therefore, the sum of the individual probability values of all resources must = 1.
In the complete absence of links, then, every resource would have a PR of 1/T, where T is the total number of resources. Assuming roughly 2.5 Billion resources, the average PR is 1/2500000000 = 0.0000000004. Given the relationship described the the paragraph above, if any resources gain PR by virtue of IBLs, the PRs of all other resources must fall, so as to maintain a constant total PR of 1.
Note that this means that it is impossible for everyone's PR to increase.
The PR displayed on the [BT]ool Bar[/B] is not actual PR; Tool Bar PR (TBPR) is :Actual PR mapped onto a value scale 0 to 10; and,A time lagged snapshot of a specific point in past time.
While actual PR is continually updated, TBPR is updated only irregularly; what you see is not current. And the transform used to map PR to TBPR is not linear; i.e., PR 4, for example, is not twice that of PR 2.
Now, since a new resource does, by definition, have a non-zero probability of being requested, it is immediately given an actual PR value when it is indexed. However, since actual PR is not observable, and TBPR is only irregularly updated, there is not yet any TBPR value to be displayed.
In such case the Tool Bar displays "Not Ranked;" i.e. the Tool Bar doesn't know what the PR is. And, since a resource could very well acquire a great amount of PR via IBLs before TPBR is next updated, a "Not Ranked" resource could indeed have an actual PR that is higher one displaying a TBPR of 0!
This is why those who understand what TPBR really is refer to it as the Fool Bar.

If you had, you would know that "Not Ranked" means "unknown," not "less than zero."
When the Tool Bar PR is updated, "Not Ranked" could turn out to be a PR 1 or 2!
