I'm sure this has been asked before but I did a quick scan of topics and couldnt see it.How do you monitor PR without the google toolbar? I know it can be done, but how? What are the various methods available?Me too have been looking for the same information for the past 3 months.Did contacted many SEO Pros but everybody keeping it as if its big secret. One guy even asked me $2000 just for the script. On rentacoder there's a coder ivan torsky and he is selling the same for $100. On the forum contact SEOGuy he can help you.Anyways I will find the solution one day I've been using this pagehttp://www.top25web.com/pagerank.phpI don't know if you're talking about something more complex than this. As in a way to have automatically checked periodically or something. I use this b/c I have a mac at work.I have seen a few sites doing it. digitalpoint and seo-guy; i like the tool from seo-guy. There is also a software that's being sold that can get the PRs.I guess you could use the api (I stumbled across that earlier) maybe. I was looking for anything that didn't involve using IE lol. I'll go have a look at the links you have providedhttp://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.phpThis is a PR predictor but it tells you your current PR First.Clareright this has me thinking now....to find the pagerank of a site is just a query against a database (or collection of databases as it may be). This has to be simple. When I get round to giving it a go (if I am successful) I will post a function here for anyone to use. Don't expect it anytime soon though rtm223,you might want to look the webmasterworld.com - they had some hints on how to.. see if you can use them.As for the posting scripts open wide - I think there is wise point in not doing that for regular public.... of course we all understand that it's just a matter of time and google understands it even better than we do.You will need the checksum algo if you want to retrieve the PR directly from toolbarqueries.google.com. It's over 200 lines of coding and the API doesnt provide a way to check that.. ahhh those ideas that sound so easy at night, until someone points out how dumb you are being. *note to self - if it's that easy everyone would be doing it*ho hum. I'll probably give it a go eventually //lol just noticed you sig alien - you're gloating aren't you My site allows you to search like you are using the regular Google, but the PageRank of the results is also shown.except google doesn't take half an hour to do a search..... sorry -it seems to be fixed now. That is quite handy when comibined with the allinurl: trick.Looks like I have found my solution (even though I'm wary of blatant plugs lol)rtm223 wrote:The reason I posted the first comment was it took nearly 5 mins to do a search. I think it had some serious problems at the time after that it was like 5 seconds - plenty fast enough for pr search It's defiantly having some serious problems, I can't even reach it any more. The amount of traffic it's received is overwhelming, it went from literally 0 to 10,000s of visitors a day over night (most of them Japanese for some reason, maybe because the Google Toolbar is not available in Japanese? Is it, I don't know?)A lot also goes on behind the scenes involving databases, regular expressions, proxy requests and lots of other resource hogging, and performance dehancing (not a word) things.OK, unless someones is executing a mass DoS attack on me, I think I'm screwed, because my cheap host account really can't handle this much.
